“Memory Rain” is an interactive installation that visualizes the fragility and reconstruction of memory.
Using Kinect and image-based motion interaction, the work transforms participants’ gestures into falling “memory fragments” — words, shapes, and images that drift through digital rain. Each touch or movement triggers a brief illumination before fading away, evoking the fleeting yet recurring nature of remembrance.
The installation invites people to question: What is memory?
Do the things that have passed away define who we are, or do the things yet to come shape us?
Through participation, audiences collect and release fragments of their own stories, confronting the inevitability of disappearance while rediscovering the beauty hidden within loss.
By deconstructing memory into visual and interactive elements, Memory Rain becomes both a meditation on time and a poetic act of preservation.
